Welcome to Homecoming central! Here's all the info you need for a week of nostalgia, traditions, and all things Bulldogs. Artesia High Forever!
EARLY RELEASE
First off: Don't forget! The Artesia Public Schools will be operating under an early-release schedule on Friday, Sept. 26, in order to allow everyone to get ready for the Homecoming parade and game! All buses will run according to the early-release schedule.
Release times will include:
⢠Grand Heights Early Childhood Center: 1:05 p.m. (no pre-kindergarten)
⢠All Elementary Schools: 1:15 p.m.
⢠Zia Intermediate, Park Junior High, and Artesia High School: 1:20 p.m.
BONFIRE
The Artesia High School Student Council will once again be bringing back a variation on a beloved tradition by hosting Bonfire Night on the corner of 13th Street and Grand Avenue. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, and students are encouraged to bring their own S'more supplies!
PARADE
This year's Homecoming parade asks entrants to expand their boundaries while celebrating "rich cultures, colors, and traditions from every corner of the globe." The parade theme is Bulldogs Take on the World, and it promises to deliver some creative takes on world travel!
Parade entry is still available but will have a $10 late fee attached. Contact Jennifer Humble or Ashley Mason at 575-746-9816, jhumble@bulldogs.org, or amason@bulldogs.org to obtain an entry form.
The parade will begin at 4 p.m. with line-up in the Bulldog Bowl parking lot and proceed east on Main Street to Second Street.
ENCHILADA SUPPER
For the 54th year, Yeso Elementary School will be holding its traditional Enchilada Supper on Game Day!
The Supper will run from 4-6:15 p.m. in the Park Junior High School cafeteria, with dine-in and carry-out options available. Plates are $10 each and include enchiladas, beans, and dessert. Tickets may be purchased at the door, so head out after the parade and let the Thunderbirds take care of your pre-game meal!
